Handling Anonymous Donations

Sometimes some organizations receive anonymous donations. The most common example is cash in a church's collection plate.

The usual way to handle this is to create a special donor for which you record such donations. You could name that donor "Cash", or "Anonymous", or whatever works for you. Then just record the total of cash / anonymous donations received on

Be sure to mark that donor as non-receiptable, so it won't receive a charitable receipt when you generate them with Receipt menu options. See Non-Receiptable Donors and Donations to learn how to mark the donor as non-receiptable.
